Wanted for Murder: Snippet from Starrella Falls for #WeWriWa #Superhero Adventure & Romance

Welcome to another Sunday with Weekend Writing Warriors. Here, writers in different genres showcase their stories with 8-10 sentences. Join the fun and read our snippets.

I’m continuing the scene from my latest release: Starrella Falls, Book 2 in the Secret Supers. You can read the first chapters HERE.

Background: The wanted murderer, Craoker, followed Toby and Estelle out of the pub. Croaker attacks Estelle, and Toby knocks him out.
The final sentence was: “What guy?” Mark strode over and stared at the body.
[Slightly creative punctuation to fit]

“Croaker, the man wanted for murder,” Estelle explained; “we recognized him when we were in the pub.”
“He was bothering Estelle,” Toby growled, pulling her protectively to his side.
“Are you all right?” Diane asked, running to Estelle and catching her hand.
“I’m fine; Toby is looking after me.”
Kneeling by the unconscious Croaker, Mark examined his face, “You’re correct, Ryan, it’s Croaker in a simple disguise.” He looked up at Toby, “I’ll take him to the police station. Give me a hand to shove him in my car.”
Grabbing hold of his arms, Toby lifted Croaker’s upper torso and Mark seized his legs to carry the unconscious man to the car. Toby stepped aside and rubbed his hands together, “Better tie his hands.”

  1. I was going to say, just shoving him in the car may still be dangerous. But, is tying his hands enough?

    1. You'll have to wait to find out. If I get that far with snippets.

  2. My reaction was exactly the same as Jessica's. I hope that tying his hands is enough.

  3. I don't recall, how dangerous is he? Does he have superpowers? If so, then tying hands probably won't restrain him if he wakes up. But if he's normal dude, it should suffice.

    1. He was introduced in an earlier chapter as someone with special tools like poison darts and a tendency to kill.

  4. Yes, by all means do more than just tie this dangerous guy up! Will be interesting to see what happens next...terrific snippet.

  6. Ok, so the are definitely underestimating Croaker. Let's see how that unravels. Excellent snippet, as always Aurora!

  8. Putting this guy in the car, even unconscious and tied up, seems potentially dangerous!

  11. I have the feeling they are setting themselves up for trouble by underestimating this guy. Oh my!

  12. Yup. Always good to tie the hands, just in case he's putting up an act. ;)

  13. I'm wondering how far Mark can be trusted. He was certainly quick to volunteer to take him to the police station instead of calling the cops to come get him.

  14. Tie his hands, and his feet, and the rest of him... he sounds like a piece of work. Great snippet!

  18. I'd be careful of him even now. I'm sure our heroine will be fine, though.

  20. By how much they were saying this guy is dangerous, I'm wondering if just the hands is enough. And why wouldn't you just call the cops to you? Something smells fishy ever since Mark had perfect timing showing up.
