Welcome to the SFR Brigade February Showcase!
This month, I’m showcasing my new release, an anthology of my shorter works with the cute title of Comet Tales. If you like puns, my stories may appeal to you. Hop to the end of this post for freebies!

Please remember to check out the posts from the other participants at

Comet Tales
Note, most of these stories are available separately or have been offered for special occasions.

 Comet Tales

Four short stories and a novella.
Trudge over the rocks of Mars, trek through a hazardous alien jungle, or pop across the galaxy in a pirate ship in five fun tales of adventure and romance.

Gifts of Jangalore
Short story set in the Grand Masters’ Universe.
Empath Rosa Spruce and Psi Master Varan seek an ancient site within an alien jungle.
Set in the world of the Grand Masters, a few hundred years prior to the events in the Grand Master's Trilogy.

Stranded on Illumina
Jacie’s plan to meet her boyfriend on the Planet Illumina is scuttled when he skips their date.
My offering for Valentine's day.

Lonely Hearts on Mars
Love blossoms from disaster in this science fiction short story set in the near future.
With hints of the Beetles.

Super Christmas
A glimpse into the lives of the Secret Supers.
A sweet scene with Estelle, Toby and a peep at their animal pals, Rockette and Growler. Would you like to fly on a winger horse?

Captured by the Hawk
A Space Opera Novella. Spaceships crash across the galaxy in the comic misadventures of spy Grey Kat and pirate Black Hawk. Will Kat uncover his mask before they are imprisoned by the Emperor’s troops?
This story pays homage to my Irish relatives. Katrina Sligo runs a ship called the Shamrock (slight spoiler).

  1. Looks great -- I'll check them out!

  2. I just hit one-click. I think I'll spend my weekend curled up in bed reading these five fun tales.

  3. You had me at "if you like puns" so I bought the book.

Speaking of puns, have you read Harry Turtledove's fascinating The Case of the Toxic Spell Dump? The whole book is one long series of puns -- the man is utterly shameless, as all great punsters are.

    1. A book full of puns might be difficult to stomach without a groan.
