Trina Sligo in Snippet from Comet Tales for #WeWriWa #SciFi Space opera

Welcome to another Sunday with Weekend Writing Warriors. Here, writers in different genres showcase their stories with 8-10 sentences. Join the fun and read our snippets.

I am continuing a scene from an older story, my space operetta, Captured by the Hawk. This story is included in my latest release, Comet Tales.

Tag line: Spaceships crash across the galaxy in the comic misadventures of spy Grey Kat and pirate Black Hawk.
After stealing secret codes from the Emperor's Revenge, Grey Kat was caught by Black Hawk’s crewmen and taken onto his spaceship. Captain Hawk first sees her in her grimy dock thief disguise. He is suspicious, but sends her to a surprisingly luxurious cabin where she washes her dyed hair and dirty face, so she looks very different when Black Hawk next sees her.
The last line was: Black Hawk circled her again, insisting, “I know your face.”

He halted in front of her, staring at her face with narrowed eyes. She remained motionless and silent, only her eyes sparked with insolence.
“Wait,” he cried, with a confident glow in his green eyes, “I have it! You are Mistress Trina Sligo, daughter of the Solarian diplomat.”
She made a slight bow, and said, tilting up her chin with a mocking, regal air, “You are correct, Captain Hawk. In this guise, I am Mistress Trina Sligo.”
“Amazing!” he said appreciatively, shaking his head. “No one would ever guess that you were the dock thief, Grey Kat.”
She smiled thinly, wondering how long he would stare at her.

 Comet Tales

Comet Tales is an anthology of 4 short stories and the novella, Captured by the Hawk.
Trudge over the rocks of Mars, trek through a hazardous alien jungle, or pop across the galaxy in a pirate ship in five fun tales of adventure and romance.

Cute new covers and rebranding for my Secret Supers series.

    1. She's been in the high society gossip tabloids, so it's useless to deny her identity.
